Abstract

This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry. The report includes shipment volume and value, ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by tier, shipment by maker, and shipment by price point, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with notebook PC makers. The report finds that the Greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume and value both saw sequential growth despite the global economic situation in the third quarter of 2008. Although the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry scored dobule-digit shipment growth rates both in terms of volume and value in the third quarter, the figures were weak in comparison with the previous years. IMR technology shortage and low-price netbook PCs are expected to affect shipments in the fourth quarter and the next year.
